This is a continuous meeting time. Call instructor to see if a loom is open. All materials provided. Calculate, warp and weave two samplers. Most people take 4-5 sessions to complete their samplers.

Experienced weavers and those who have completed their first two samplers are invited to utilize SESSC looms on an open-loom basis. A pre-paid punch card is available for your use.

Both Ways Café and Catering is hosting a fundraiser for the Center.  Join Candice and the Center’s South End Crafters to make Paper Mache crafts that will be sold at the nearby Both Ways Café in May 19th - 21st. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Center. No experience necessary. See page 18 of Newsletter for their address and hours of operation.

Table for One: Joys and Challenges of Living Alone

Come together with other folks over 60 to discuss the challenges and joys of living alone. This 5-week workshop will broaden your social network, learn new techniques on how to remain independent and receive support from peers.  *No one unable to make a donation will be turned away.*

Watercolor Plus - Art with Alzheimers

Watercolor Plus is a 6-week art activity offered by Elderwise. Join Elderwise facilitators for an hour of wet-on-wet watercolor the Elderwise way. We welcome those living with memory-loss and their care-partners, as well as other members of the SESSC. Join us for an hour of spirit-centered fellowship, and the magic that happens when we gather and create.

We’re Coloring Anyway!

Coloring can be a healing and therapeutic activity for adults. It can help ease tension, be relaxing, and inspire creativity. You may bring your own coloring books and crayons. The Center has a limited supply of crayons and things to color that you may use. Please join us!

Dementia Friendly Drumming Circle

A facilitated, Dementia-Friendly Drumming Circle, where people with all stages of memory loss can come together and explore the healing nature of rhythm and beats. Care-partners, family, and friends are encouraged to participate. A limited supply of instruments will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own percussion instruments.

Discover the joys of percussion.  Learn how to count, feel and play different rhythms and beats in a group setting.  This is a great way to help keep your mind and body remaining alert and to have fun! No experience necessary.  All are welcome to a end. 

Early Stage Memory Loss Theatre

The Taproot Theatre is offering a very special class designed primarily for but not limited to those experiencing early stage memory loss (ESML) and their care partners.  Learn to tap into your creative abilities and re-ignite the mind through improvisation and theatre games.  This will be a lot of fun!  Sign up at the Front Desk.
