Make checks payable to ‘City of Seattle.’ These activities are not always held at the SESSC. Please be sure to refer to each activity to determine locations, times, and dates.

Transit Control Center and Light Rail Tour - 160371

Trillium and Tea Tour - 160372

This two-acre botanical 'Cottage Lake Gardens' has all 50 species of trilliums, and is one of the only gardens in the world where you can see them all growing in one place! Master gardener Susie Egan will share what makes the trillium unique, and how to grow them as we enjoy tea, before we stroll down the Trillium Trail. Afterwards, lunch at Maltby Café and a quick jaunt to Flower World to see what is growing there!  Lunch on your own.

Sound Steps Walking Program

Want to meet friends and maintain your health and independence? Join a FREE Sound Steps weekly walking group for adults age 50+, offered throughout the city. We have groups for all levels of walkers. For more information, email Jill Ellison in the Lifelong Recreation office or call (206) 684-4664. Let Jill know before you start with a group so she can alert the walk leader.



  • Reservations may only be made via telephone call or in-person registration.  For casino trips, reservations made via voice mail are acceptable as long as they are made on the first day of the month in which the trip will be made.
  • Phone registrations or non-payment sign-ups must be paid within five (5) business days of initial signup or they will be MOVED to the “Wait List”.
  • A check will be issued for trip cancelations if made at least three days prior to the trip. Missed paid trips will be considered a donation to the Center.
  • For your convenience, MasterCard and VISA credit cards are accepted.
  • Drivers will not wait for late comers. You must be at the designated location at the time the driver announces departure.
  • Failure to do so may result in being left behind, and you will not be permitted to go on the next three SESSC Casino Trips.
